The HEI Challenge Background
The HEI Challenge Award 2014-15 has been a unique opportunity for East Midlands universities (and other universities outside the region who are commissioned to deliver education by Health Education East Midlands), that are members of the Higher Education Strategic Liaison Forum and which contribute to the education and training of health professionals in the East Midlands, to foster a sustainable approach to working collaboratively across the regions HEIs to drive positive experiences and outcomes for learners and local employers for the benefit of our population.
The HEI Challenge has been funded by the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network (EMAHSN). In order to encourage collaboration and sharing of best practice, this website has been developed as an open resource and unless otherwise stated the information and materials may be downloaded and adapted, provided that the following acknowledgment is included: “This information was developed as part of the HEI Challenge project, with funding support from the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network.”
Our approach to the Higher Education Institution Challenge has focussed on four main areas:
- Involvement of services users, patients, and carers in educational design, delivery, and involvement.
- Innovative deployment of digital technology within health and social care education.
- Interdisciplinary education that supports quality improvement in health and social care.
- Quality Improvement into education and research.
